The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is approving an amendment to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCC) section 1115 demonstration. Approval of this amendment gives authority to the state to provide limited coverage for certain services furnished to certain incarcerated individuals for up to 90 days immediately prior to the individual’s expected date of release. This approval will also provide expenditure authority to the state to provide non-medical transportation (NMT) to and from Health-Related Social Need (HRSN) services and home and community-based services (HCBS) for Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) eligible beneficiaries.
