The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is approving an amendment to California’s Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) section 1115 demonstration. Approval of this demonstration amendment will provide Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (CAA, 2023; P.L. 117-328) waiver authority related to the approved reentry demonstration initiative, provide Title XXI expenditure authority for health-related social needs (HRSN), include updates to the special terms and conditions for already approved HRSN services in alignment with CMS’s housing duration and frequency policy, and make other technical changes.
