On March 30, 2023, Arizona requested to amend its AHCCCS demonstration to allow the state to annually renew Medicaid eligibility, without requiring additional information, for individuals who were in the state’s foster care system and turn 18 years old, until they reach the age of 26. The state will automatically renew eligibility for these individuals unless the individual notifies the state that they have moved out of Arizona, they withdraw the enrollment voluntarily, or they provided information indicating that the individual may qualify for Medicaid in a different eligibility category. The federal public comment period will be open from April 12, 2023 through May 12, 2023.
