The New Hampshire Substance Use Disorder, Serious Mental Illness, and Serious Emotional Disturbance Treatment Recovery and Access section 1115 demonstration currently authorizes the state to receive 1115(a)(2) expenditure authority for expenditures for otherwise covered substance use disorder (SUD), serious mental illness (SMI), and serious emotional disturbance (SED) treatment and withdrawal management services furnished to eligible individuals who are short-term residents in facilities that meet the definition of an institution for mental diseases (IMD). On December 1, 2022, the state submitted a section 1115 amendment application that seeks authority to provide removable prosthodontic coverage for adult Medicaid beneficiaries age 21 and older who reside in nursing facilities. The federal public comment period will be open from December 8, 2022 through January 6, 2023.
