Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the FFY 2020 Annual Report to Congress (RTC) on Medicaid Drug Review and Utilization Requirements Under Section 1004 of the SUPPORT Act concerning implementation of these Medicaid drug utilization review provisions. The RTC shows that majority of programs have implemented opioid edits and other standards required by the amendments made by the SUPPORT Act or have a plan in place to implement those standards in the near future. Variation in the methods used by States to meet the required standards were noted and further details can be found in State specific reports on Medicaid.gov.
