South Dakota’s Former Foster Care Youth 1115 Waiver

On October 20, 2022, South Dakota requested to extend the Former Foster Care Youth demonstration for a five-year period.  The demonstration provides full Medicaid state plan benefits to former foster care youth who are under age 26, with income up to 182 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), and were in foster care under the responsibility of another state or tribe on the date of attaining 18 years of age.  The federal comment period will be open from November 2, 2022 to December 2, 2022.
