The Healthy Louisiana Opioid Use Disorder/Substance Use Disorder (OUD/SUD) section 1115 demonstration currently authorizes the state to receive 1115(a)(2) expenditure authority for expenditures for otherwise covered substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and withdrawal management services furnished to eligible individuals who are short-term residents in facilities that meet the definition of an institution for mental disease (IMD). This section 1115 extension application seeks authority to continue to operate this demonstration as approved with no changes. The state will continue its work to improve its delivery system, expand access to treatment for OUD/SUD including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and to achieve the demonstration milestones. The federal comment period will be open from May 26, 2022 through June 24, 2022.
