On April 8, 2022, Minnesota submitted to CMS a request to amend the Minnesota Reform 2020 Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration to reflect the addition of Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) as a benefit under the Alternative Care program. The state is redesigning the plan personal care assistance services to expand self-directed options to expand people’s choices about how they receive their services, including who can provide services, additional support for writing plans, more self-direction options and the ability to purchase goods that aid a person’s independence. The federal comment period will be open from April 25, 2022 through May 25, 2022.
