On February 25, 2021, Iowa submitted an amendment to the Iowa Wellness Plan to provide dental benefits to children through Prepaid Ambulatory Health Plans (PAHPs). The goal of this amendment is to allow the state to better coordinate dental care for children, helping to promote oral health in an accessible and cost-effective manner. Currently, Iowa Medicaid enrollees age 19 and over are enrolled in a PAHP for receipt of dental benefits. The federal public comment period will be open from March 26, 2021 through April 26, 2021.
