On July 11, 2018, Rhode Island requested a five-year extension of its Comprehensive Section 1115 Demonstration requesting additional authorities that will allow the state to continue to improve its Medicaid program. The demonstration will build on the development of the Health System Transformation Project and will seek opportunities to implement reforms that will focus on paying for value and coordinating physical, behavioral, and long-term healthcare; with the goal of making Medicaid more effective, efficient, and sustainable in the future. The federal public comment period will be open from July 18, 2018 through August 17, 2018.
