SMD: Medicaid/CHIP Provider Fingerprint-Based Criminal Background Check

Today the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued guidance to states on Provider Fingerprint-Based Criminal Background Checks for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This guidance is part of a series relating to the implementation of Section 6401 of the Affordable Care Act, Provider Screening and Other Enrollment Requirements under Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP.
