Use the See Plans & Prices Tool to View Plans in Your Area

If interested in providing your employees with health and/or dental insurance through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP), but don’t know where to start, you can use the See Plans & Prices tool on HealthCare.gov to view the plans available in your area.

To use the See Plans & Prices tool, enter your ZIP Code and choose your location. You’ll then enter how many people need coverage and the ages of the people who need to be covered. The tool will then show all the plans available in your area.

If no SHOP plans are available in your area, you may be able to get coverage in one of four ways:

  1. You can contact any health insurance company directly and see plans available in your area. Many companies have websites that let you compare all the plans they sell.
  2. You can work with an insurance agent or broker. Generally, agents work for a single health insurance company, while brokers sell plans from several. Both can help you compare plans and complete your enrollment, and you don’t pay more by using an agent or broker. You can find local insurance agents and brokers near you by visiting Find Local Help.
  3. You can work with an online health insurance seller. These services offer health plans from a number of insurance companies. They let you compare prices and features and then enroll with the insurance company.
  4. You can offer a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). HRAs are a type of account-based health plan that employers can use to reimburse employees for their medical care expenses. These can be offered as either an individual coverage HRA (ICHRA), where your employees can purchase and be reimbursed for a plan like one from the Individual Marketplace, or a Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA). Employers decide what they contribute to these plans.
