In April, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Portal updated its password requirements. The new requirements include:
- Must be at least 15 characters long, but cannot be longer than 60 characters
- Must contain 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 number
- Special characters are optional
- The following special characters are acceptable: " ! # $ % & ’ ( ) * + , - . / \ : ; < = > ? @ [ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~
- Cannot contain parts of the User ID or contain the user’s first or last name
- Can only be changed by the user once per 24 hours
- Must be different from the last 6 passwords used
Note: You will be required to log in every 60 days for your account password to remain active, instead of the previous requirement to log in every 180 days. After 60 days of inactivity, users will have to reset their passwords to regain access to their account.
If you haven't already, you will need to update your CMS Enterprise Portal password in order to access the Marketplace Learning Management System (MLMS), where you can complete Marketplace training and update your agent/broker profile information.
