We've got the perfect match for finding fraud, waste, and abuse - and it's single
Organizations that spend more than $750,000 in federal funds in a fiscal year have to conduct what's called a Single Audit - a deep dive report that provides information about whether money is being spent the way it was intended by federal guidelines.
Single Audits can be done by state auditors or other independent auditors and have become more common during the pandemic. That’s because state and local governments got more than $500 billion in COVID aid, doling that money out to more than 100,000 recipients (like a smaller local government or a nonprofit).
We ❤️ Single Audits. We show them off in our reports library and use the findings to create helpful content on our website, like our interactive map that shows fraud estimates in unemployment benefits by state.
Single Audits are just one of the ways we rely on the expertise of state and local oversight professionals. We also launched a state auditor-in-residence program - building on our relationships with states.
