Last week, PRAC Chair Michael Horowitz testified on pandemic oversight to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability
Our chair Michael Horowitz updated the Committee on our oversight of the $5 trillion in pandemic relief, including lessons learned about the importance of data access and data sharing, and our plans for the future of fighting fraud.
In his testimony, Chair Horowitz focused on the impact of identity theft, sharing our recent Fraud Alert that identified $5.4 billion in potential identity-based fraud in the EIDL and PPP programs.
He also updated Congress on our efforts to promote transparency as to how funds have been spent. For example, you can search recipients of PPP loans using our PPP dashboard.
Finally, he shared how we are using data analytics to detect potential fraud through our Pandemic Analytics Center of Excellence.
And we're not done yet
On Wednesday, February 8th at 10am ET, PRAC Chair Horowitz will testify to the House Committee on Ways and Means in a hearing on pandemic unemployment insurance.
