Coaching Opportunities for FY 2023!

Dear Colleagues,

Due to some OIG community members not having received the below message, we are extending the deadline to request a federal coach.  To be considered, please complete the form linked below by COB (5:00 PM EST) Friday, November 4, 2022.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE SENT ON OCTOBER 7, 2022:

___________________________________________________________________________________________

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of Rae Oliver Davis, Chair of the CIGIE Professional Development Committee, CIGIE Coaching is pleased to announce another opportunity to receive coaching from trained federal coaches within the CIGIE Community, as well as other federal coaching communities at no cost to participants or their OIGs.

What is Coaching? Coaching is an intentional conversation in which the coach uses inquiry and feedback to support the participant’s self-directed learning, increased self-awareness, and enhanced capacity to thrive in uncertain environments. This approach is built on the science an application of well-being, resilience, and strength-based leadership.  Coaching is focused on helping participants see what is important and how to achieve it, clarify new possibilities, and be active in their own development.

A coaching engagement typically consists of six to eight sessions spread over a 4 to 6 month period; however, this varies depending on the specific needs of the participant and the agreement between coach and participant.

Criteria for matching will generally be first come first served, but with consideration of:

  1. Equitable OIG representation, particularly from OIGs without internal coaching programs
  2. Equitable job function and level representation
  3. Availability of CIGIE Coaches (see Coach Bios)

No matches will be made between OIG employees and their specific oversight entity (e.g., employee of Treasury OIG and Treasury Coach).

Please note that completing this form does not guarantee partnership with a coach.  CIGIE coaches are limited in number, and we offer our coaching services to the OIG community in addition to our full-time positions.  If you have previously applied for a CIGIE coach and were not matched, please apply to this announcement and we will do our best to prioritize your request.  After this round of coach-client partnerships end in approximately 6 months, we will re-evaluate CIGIE coaches’ availability and begin a second round of matching.

Additionally, if we receive more demand than available CIGIE coaches, the CIGIE Coaching Subcommittee will work with partnering federal coaching networks—including OPM’s Federal Internal Coaching Network, the Treasury Executive Institute, and the Defense Intelligence Agency Coaching Network—to identify potential coaching matches.  If you wish to be matched with a non-CIGIE coach through our partnered networks, please indicate your preference on the form.

If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact Brian Sano at Brian.J.Sano@stateoig.gov.

Thank you.
