You Asked, We Listened: July Updates to data.census.gov
Based on user feedback, data.census.gov now includes enhancements that make generating and using API queries easier.
What's New

Generate ready-to-use API queries directly from a table. Clicking the API button now opens a customizable prompt where you can enter your API key and instantly generate a usable API query.

The same streamlined experience is now available in the Microdata Access Tool (MDAT), allowing you to generate API calls with your API key included.

Stay informed with new MDAT banner messages that display important system notifications at the top of the page.

Improved API key messaging. If your API key is missing or invalid, your query is preserved so you can quickly copy it, add your key, and try again.
Fun Fact: Since 2016, we've received 67,274 pieces of user feedback. Enhancements like those above are driven by what our users tell us.
