The Academy Awards are Sunday. Tuesday is Mom and Pop Business Owners Day and Vietnam War Veterans Day. Wednesday is Doctors Day. April is Community College Month. April 3 is the Grammy Awards and the start of National Library Week.

94th Academy Awards: March 27

The 2019 Annual Business Survey reports 24,230 employer firms in motion picture and sound recording industries with 326,944 employees and a $19 billion annual payroll.

Mom and Pop Business Owners Day: March 29

The 2019 Statistics of U.S. Businesses counted employment of 133.0M, of which 71.3M worked for enterprises with 500+ employees and 61.7M for those under 500.

National Vietnam War Veterans Day: March 29

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated 6.19 million living Americans are veterans of the Vietnam War. We also honor 58,318 dead and 1,584 unaccounted for.

National Doctors Day: March 30

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated 698,316 civilians 16 years and over were employed as “Other physicians.” Median earnings was $217,588.

Community College Month: April

In 2020, the Current Population Survey estimated the number of college students enrolled in two-year institutions was 3.7M, a 2.0M decrease from 5.7M in 2011.

64th GRAMMY Awards: April 3

According to the 2019 American Community Survey, there were 26,624 music directors and composers, and 50,740 musicians and singers in the U.S.

National Library Week: April 3-9

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated 139,287 full-time librarians and media collections specialists. There are a total of 116,867 libraries in the U.S.
