Tomorrow is Leif Erikson Day (think Nordic heritage) and the end of Fire Prevention Week. Sunday begins Earth Science Week. All month we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness, Energy Awareness, Global Diversity Awareness, Italian-American Heritage, and Polish-American Heritage. Hispanic Heritage Month ends October 15.

Leif Erikson Day (Nordic-American heritage): October 9

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated 10.9 million people in the U.S. reported Nordic ancestry (Danish, Finnish, Icelander, Norwegian and Swedish), about 3.3%.
