Send Us Your Data Product Feedback

As discussed in our 9/16/2021 newsletter, we encourage you to review the planning crosswalk and consider how proposed scope and geographic changes might impact your data needs. Please send your comments using the subject "2020 Census data products" by Friday, October 22 to: 2020DAS@census.gov. In particular, we are seeking feedback on use cases for lower levels of geography (e.g., block and block group) for Demographic and Housing Characteristics (DHC) File tables, and general feedback on the Detailed DHC.

Now Available: 2020 Disclosure Avoidance System (DAS) Source Code: Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171) Summary File

A unique benefit of a differentially private system is that it is fully transparent; it is designed to allow full disclosure of the algorithmic code and parameters that underpin the random assignment of noise infusion.

The Census Bureau today released the code used to produce the redistricting data published on August 12 and September 16. This release enables experienced data scientists to analyze the TopDown Algorithm used to protect the redistricting data. Visit our GitHub page for more information.
