Retiring American FactFinder

What You Need to Know

The U.S. Census Bureau has retired American FactFinder (AFF), its statistics and information search engine after 20 years. AFF will remain as an archive system for data and functionality that are not yet available in data.census.gov until March 31, 2020.

After March 31, 2020, our American FactFinder will be decommissioned and no longer available.

The Census Bureau stopped releasing new data in AFF at the end of June 2019 and transitioned to data.census.gov for data releases formerly on AFF. Data.census.gov represents a new chapter in the Census Bureau’s dissemination approach by centralizing data access and allowing for a more rapid response to customers.

Check out our Deep Link Guide to help migrate your AFF links to data.census.gov.

The Census Bureau will continue to add features and capabilities to make the system more robust and easy to use. To help ensure a smooth transition to the new platform, we will provide you with updates, training materials, videos, and more leading up to March 31.
