National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day: December 21

The 2010 Census counted 209,325 persons in emergency and transitional shelters. On a single night in 2018, HUD reports 553,000 people experienced homelessness.

Wright Bros

Wright Brothers Day: December 17

On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright piloted the first flight for 12 seconds and 120 feet. On the fourth and final flight, Wilbur flew 59 seconds and 852 feet.
