With its origins in the Celtic festival of Samhain over 2,000 years ago, Halloween has evolved into a celebration characterized by child-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating, carving jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins, and dressing up in costumes.

The number of potential stops for trick-or-treaters—occupied housing units in the second quarter of 2019.

The number of housing units where trick-or-treaters had to climb steps to fill their bags with candy in 2017.
