for each regular and recurring statistical product expected to be released in
2016. The products are listed in the Census Bureau’s online product calendar, which is updated as needed
throughout the year.

In a variety of surveys and censuses, evolving
from the first census in 1790, the Census Bureau provides official information
about America’s people, businesses, industries and institutions. See surveys currently
being conducted in each Census Bureau region:
Census Bureau to Conduct 2020 Census
Program Management Review on Jan. 22 — U.S. Census Bureau officials will provide
updates for conducting the 2020 Census during the winter quarterly program
management review. (Scheduled for release Jan. 13.)
Demographic
Custodial
Mothers and Fathers and Their Child Support: 2013 — This report shows national-level trends of child-support
income received by parents for children whose other parent(s) lived elsewhere.
The Census Bureau collects detailed information about child-support agreements
or awards, such as the reported amounts due and received, as well as other
socioeconomic characteristics about custodial parents and their families. (Tentatively
scheduled for release Jan. 19.)
2013 Age, Sex, Race, Hispanic Origin and
Foreign-Born Table Packages — These
tables from the 2013 Current Population Survey include detailed social and
economic statistics for age groups, the Hispanic population, the black
population, the Asian population and the foreign-born population. (Tentatively
scheduled for release in January.)
2015 Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic
Supplement (CPS ASEC) Parallel Survey —According
to Public Law 113-235 Dec. 16, 2014, the Census Bureau was instructed to
“collect data for the Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current
Population Survey using the same health insurance questions included in
previous years, in addition to the revised questions implemented in the Current
Population Survey beginning in February 2014.” The Census Bureau will release
the 2015 CPS ASEC Parallel Survey Research File and a detailed health insurance
table based on this file. (Tentatively scheduled for release in January.)
Educational Attainment in the
United States: 2015 — This table package
provides Current Population Survey statistics on educational attainment by
demographic characteristics, such as age, sex, race and Hispanic origin. It
also includes detailed information, including charts and graphs on years of
school completed and shows the level of education adults have completed. A
report detailing findings from these data will be released separately. (Table
package tentatively scheduled for release in January; report tentatively
scheduled to be released in February.)
Economic
Infographic: Census of Governments — A collection of visuals providing background information
on the twice-a-decade Census of Governments. Includes a look at the process of
planning, and data collection and dissemination for the upcoming 2017 Census.
(Tentatively scheduled for release Jan. 20.)
Start
of 2012 Economic Census Subject Series: Retail Trade-Product Lines — The
first report in the subject series for the retail sector presents
national and state-level data for retail at the two through six-digit
North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) level. The subject
and summary series provide statistics on number of establishments and
sales/receipts by products and contributing industry. The retail trade subject
and summary series reports will be released on a flow basis through March
2016 on topics ranging from product lines to class of customer. (Tentatively
scheduled for release Jan. 22.)
2014
Service Annual Survey — This annual business survey provides
the most comprehensive national statistics available on service activity in the
United States. Sectors include transportation and warehousing; finance and
insurance; educational services; and arts, entertainment and recreation, to
name a few. The statistics show operating revenue and expenses for both taxable
and tax-exempt firms and organizations, sources of revenue and expenses by type
for selected industries, and selected industry-specific items. The survey also
provides e-commerce revenue for all industries and export revenue and inventory
data for selected industries. (Tentatively scheduled for release Jan. 27.)
2012

for the United States by various categories. For establishments, the
categories are sales size, employment size and legal form of organization.
For firms, the categories are sales size, employment
size, concentration by largest firms and number of establishments
operated (single units and multiunits). (Tentatively scheduled for
release Jan. 27.)
2013 County Business Patterns-Congressional Districts— These statistics provide the only detailed
annual information on the number of establishments, employees and annual
payroll for the 114th Congressional Districts. These data are useful for
studying the economic activity of small areas and analyzing economic changes
over time. These data will be released in a new version of My Congressional District.
(Tentatively scheduled for release Jan. 27.)
2012 Economic Census
Subject Series — Continuing on a flow basis through June 2016, the Subject
Series reports supplement other products and present tabulations for the U.S.
with some state detail. Reports for most sectors include establishment and firm
size (including legal form of organization). Miscellaneous subjects reports for
the manufacturing sector include general summary, products summary, materials consumed
summary and concentration ratios in manufacturing.
Facts for Features
Women’s History
Month: March — In commemoration of this annual observance
highlighting and celebrating the varied and historic accomplishments of women,
this edition provides statistical information on topics such as earnings,
education, business ownership, voting, occupations, military service and
marriage. (Tentatively scheduled for release Jan. 15.)
Irish-American Heritage Month
(March) and St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) —
You may not find a pot of gold at the end of this edition of Facts for
Features, but you will find it useful and informative nonetheless. It is filled
with statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic and economic
subject areas on the nation’s Irish-American population and other facets of
this celebration of all things Irish. (Tentatively scheduled for release Jan.
20.)
Super Bowl 50: Feb. 7, 2016 — Super Bowl 50 will be played Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara,
Calif. The first Super Bowl was played on Jan. 15, 1967, at Los Angeles
Memorial Coliseum, with the Green Bay Packers beating the Kansas City Chiefs by
the score of 35-10. To commemorate this year’s golden anniversary Super Bowl,
the Census Bureau presents a collection of facts looking at how life has
changed from 1967 to 2016 and examining the demographics of the host city, as
well as the cities represented by the two participating teams. (Tentatively scheduled
for release Jan. 27.)

Census Bureau Offers Training
Opportunities — Webinars are available to help the public access and use Census Bureau
statistics. These free sessions, lasting 60 to 90 minutes, show how
to use census databases and mapping tools and how to find demographic and
economic statistics at a local or national level. They also provide quick links
for answers to frequently asked questions about accessing statistics.

annual projection of the nation’s population for Jan. 1, 2016. The release
includes birth, death and net international migration rates, as well as a

Population of Cities and Metro
Areas Involved in Determining the Nation’s Top Team in College Football — Dec. 29 — The Census Bureau presents a graphic that
shows the July 1, 2014, population of the cities and metropolitan areas
involved in the four-team playoff in college football’s top division. In the
first semifinal on Thursday, Dec. 31, No. 1-ranked Clemson (Clemson, S.C.) played
No. 4 Oklahoma (Norman, Okla.) in Miami Gardens, Fla. In the other semifinal,
No. 2 Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) faced No. 3 Michigan State (East Lansing,
Mich.) in Arlington, Texas. The championship game will be on Monday, Jan. 11,

mechanical tabulator that sped tabulation of the 1890 Census
and revolutionized the field of data processing for decades to come. Hollerith
founded what would become (through acquisitions and mergers) one of the
world’s leading computer, data processing and storage companies in the world — International

year. As the leading source of statistics on our nation’s people, places and
economy, we’re always striving to serve our customers better — whether they are
responding to a survey or want data about their community. Some accomplishments
include the release of the 2020 Census Operational Plan, the success of two
census tests (one in Savannah, Ga., and the other in Maricopa County, Ariz.)
and the launch of the new Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs.
