We need your help collecting examples of communications promising practices and strategies from OD2A-funded jurisdictions to include in the OD2A-TAC Resource Library.
Examples of communication “wins” include:
- Creating webpages that disseminate public health information
- Materials from media awareness campaigns
- Utilizing the CDC Rx Awareness campaign or other CDC communications tools and materials
- Publications and articles that have been shared publicly
Please note that materials and resources must be posted publicly to allow us to link to them from our website. Submit your communications strategies using the OD2A resource form by Friday, July 22.

July 18: Innovative Surveillance CoP: Linkage to Care Surveillance Workgroup Call. Provides a forum for peer discussion on cross-cutting topics, methods, and challenges/solutions across jurisdictions for one of the three focused innovative surveillance community of practice workgroups dedicated to local outbreak detection.

July 19: Virtual OD2A Policy Convening. Brings together OD2A jurisdictions, public health attorneys, legislative liaisons, and other policy subject matter experts to discuss overdose policy issues and share content expertise.

July 20: The SUD Patient Journey Map: Facilitators, Barriers, and Strategies for Success. Presenters from the Addiction Policy Forum (APF) will share an overview of the Patient Journey Map, which was developed through the input of patients in treatment and recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). Registration is forthcoming.

July 21: Save the Date: Community for Harm Reduction – Blending Funding Sources to Support Harm Reduction. Save the date for this event. Registration, topic, and other information about this session are forthcoming.

August 9–11: The National Resource Center for Academic Detailing’s (NaRCAD) 3-Day Intensive Academic Detailing Techniques Training. Teaches new clinical outreach educators, or Academic Detailers (ADs) how to effectively communicate best evidence and critical tools to front line clinicians prescribing opioids.

Addiction Policy Forum
Addiction Policy Forum is a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating addiction as a major health problem. Founded in 2015, they work in states and communities across the country to end stigma, help patients and families in crisis, translate the science around addiction, increase uptake of evidence-based practice and advance research.
