Topic: The September outreach webinar will feature suicide prevention specialist and advocate Leslie Weirich. She is an Elkhart County, Indiana, Suicide Prevention Coalition board member, and a mental health youth first aid-certified, QPR-certified, Sources of Strength provisional trainer. During her presentation, she will share her story of loss and the unique circumstances that garnered her story national media attention.
During her presentation, Weirich will also discuss the brain triggers and responses that regulate impulse control, decision-making and conflict resolution, and how emotions and “fight or flight” responses occur. She will close her presentation by discussing common catalysts for mental health crises and will offer practical tools for building resilience.
