Improving Child Nutrition in Benin Through Fortified Flour Products
The family-owned Oasis des Enfants is making nutritious and reasonably priced enriched flour from soybeans, maize, peanuts and sorghum in Benin and contributing to improved child nutrition. To stay compliant with food safety regulations and expand its market opportunities, Oasis des Enfants worked with the U.S. African Development Foundation to secure a capacity-building grant, and the results have been substantial.
