Today, September 16, 2014, is the third annual observance of Global Female Condom Day. This is an annual day of education and advocacy to increase awareness, access and use of female condoms. As the only woman-initiated product capable of offering dual protection from pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, the female condom is a vital tool to protect women’s reproductive health. It is also a critical intervention to combat the HIV pandemic, ultimately helping to create an AIDS-free generation. Please help ensure that we continue celebrating successes in advancing sexual and reproductive health for all by sharing the following:

  • Watch this newly released video about the importance of female condoms. The video, which was developed by The Female Health Company, features USAID’s Senior Social Marketing & Commodities Advisor Clancy Broxton and Senior Technical Advisor for Science and Technology Jeff Spieler.
  • Check out “5 Things You Didn’t Know About Female Condoms,” a new post on USAID’s Impact blog, authored by USAID’s Clancy Broxton and Global Health Fellows Program Intern Rahel Beigel.
