U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Government of Norway, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada and the U.K. Department for International Development (DFID) invite you to Saving Lives at Birth’s DevelopmentXChange. In 2011, the Saving Lives at Birth program called upon the brightest minds across the globe to identify and scale up transformative prevention and treatment approaches in rural, low-resource settings for pregnant women and newborns around the time of birth. Building upon the success of the past two years, in January, the program launched its third call and received an impressive set of applications that continue to push the boundaries of innovation. We have narrowed our pool of innovators to 53, and these finalists, along with our existing grantees, have been invited to the DevelopmentXChange in Washington, D.C., to participate in the final stage of the competition and actively network their ideas with businesses, funders, development experts, nongovernmental organizations and each other.

  • Meet and get inspired by the 53 Saving Lives at Birth finalists, who have come to compete, and the 39 current grantees, who have already begun to change the world with their innovations.
  • Explore their innovations in an open marketplace and help build this growing community of innovators.
  • Attend the high-level forum to hear forward-looking talks from innovators and implementers to inspire further collective action.
To RSVP for the forum please go to http://developmentxchange2013.eventbrite.com and use the password “Innovate” to register.
