Innovation in Design, Equity in Access, and Action in Uptake
Immunization saves millions of lives every year and is widely recognized as one of the world’s most successful public health interventions and a “best buy” for disease prevention. Yet, there are still nearly 23 million children in the world today who are not getting the vaccines they need. Many children have not been vaccinated during the global pandemic, leaving them at risk of serious diseases like measles and polio.
This year’s World Immunization Week provides an opportunity to raise awareness and visibility for USAID’s immunization investments across the lifecourse, and will highlight USAID’s contributions to improve innovation, equity, and action for lifesaving vaccines around the world.
