April 2–8, 2017, is World Health Worker Week, during which we recognize the critical and brave roles health workers fill every day in order to achieve the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID’s) global health goals such as ending preventable maternal and child deaths, creating an AIDS-free generation, and protecting communities from infectious diseases.
A resilient health system is fundamental for supporting the availability, acceptability, accessibility, and quality of the health workforce. USAID is strategically addressing key human resources for health challenges through its expertise in health, education, and economic growth to foster innovation and partnerships.
