Paving the Way for the B-21 Raider
Article by 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs
In support of the ongoing runway project at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, to prepare for the incoming B-21, the 28 CES constructed a temporary haul road that will allow construction equipment and machinery to move materials to the runway site more efficiently while at the same time reducing damage to nearby public roads. Through collaboration with the ANG and local city, county, and state entities, the 28 CES completed the road in just over a month, providing Airmen with invaluable experience supporting large military construction projects typically only gained during deployments.

CE Weekly Submission by SMSgt Christopher N Phillips Article by 36th Wing
Today, we spotlight the 36 CES Fire Department at Andersen AFB, Guam, for successfully rescuing a hiker experiencing a medical emergency in a difficult-to-reach location. The 36 CES Fire Department maintains readiness by continuously training to be able to respond to any emergency with precision and exceptional care – which is exactly what they did in responding to the call alongside their 36 MDG counterparts. Once on scene, rescue crews trekked 300 feet down a steep slope from the summit of Tarague Overlook to evaluate and stabilize the patient. Upon determining the patient would be unable to ascend the cliff on their own, the 36 CES team transitioned the response from a medical emergency to a full rescue operation. Additional units were dispatched to stabilize the patient and navigate the challenging terrain, ultimately ensuring safe transport to the hospital for a full recovery. Read more here.
