 In Dec 2024, the 801 RHTS hosted members of the RCAF at Tyndall AFB, Florida, for an immersive RDR course. The joint team swiftly repaired damaged airstrips, ensuring critical air assets remained mission-ready. Strengthening Pacific Partnerships

From 27-31 Jan, 83 engineers from the USAF, JASDF, and RAAF participated in a Joint Engineer Operations Course at JBPHH, Hawaii. The course centered around the importance of interoperability, crisis response, and regional security challenges in the Indo-Pacific theater through expert-led discussions and hands-on exercises.

The 45 CES partnered with the 202 RHS for Operation BEEFY BEDDOWN, a four-day exercise at Camp Blanding, Florida, focused on setting up and sustaining a bare base for military operations. Overcoming torrential rain and equipment malfunctions, Airmen successfully assembled shelter systems, repaired airfields, and installed aircraft arresting systems, gaining critical hands-on experience in rapid base beddown and recovery.
Taming the Bullworm

The 90 CES EOD team faced freezing temperatures and 50 mph winds during Operation Wyoming Bullworm, a week-long exercise at Camp Guernsey, Wyoming, designed to sharpen operational capabilities in foreign environments. The exercise tested EOD Airmen’s ability to identify, disarm, and dispose of mock munitions in extreme conditions, preparing for real-world missions wherever duty calls.

Spark Tank Pioneering the Future

Finalists of the 2025 Spark Tank competition—the DAF’s premier campaign to accelerate innovations from proof of concept to reality—were recently announced, showcasing the ingenuity of Airmen and Guardians in enhancing military capabilities. Out of a record 441 total submissions, six cutting-edge ideas were selected to advance to the finals to be held in September 2025, where one will emerge on top. In addition, 10 semifinalist projects will advance through Project Holodeck for further development and potential implementation. From revolutionizing energy resilience with the Advanced Tactical Micro-Grid to enhancing aircraft maintenance training through Project Star Forge, these innovations tackle real-world challenges with bold, actionable solutions. With support from the AFWERX Refinery and Project Holodeck, finalists will refine their prototypes and compete for funding and sponsorship to bring their ideas to operational reality. Career Field Education and Training Plan Updates
Career Field Education and Training Plans (CFETPs) are the cornerstone of civilian development. They include everything from career building blocks to functional training offered by AFIT, used to validate funding requests for training, and much more. We have CFETPs for both the Federal Wage System as well as the Professional and Administrative Occupational series. The most current CFETPs can be found on the Career Field Team SharePoint site or on AF e-Publishing.
