A1C Josue DJ Velazquez is a Fire Protection Journeyman in the 81 CES at Keesler AFB, Mississippi. In his career thus far, Velazquez has demonstrated expertise, decisive decision making, and selfless dedication. He has responded to more than 200 emergency calls including vehicle accidents, smoke and fire alarm activations, and medical incidents. Velazquez’s selfless dedication to serving his community is exhibited through volunteering over 70 hours with the Air Force Sergeants Association, Fire Prevention Week, and local outreach organizations. His ethos of hard work, yearning for improvement, and dedication to service exemplifies what it means to be a Civil Engineer and led to his selection to Senior Airman Below the Zone for the 81st Training Wing. TSgt James R Hughey III is recognized for going above and beyond to support the 9 CES and Beale AFB, California. Some of his many accomplishments include being handpicked to manage a six-personnel team as the NCOIC for the CSS, leading several commander programs including Evaluations, Cyber Security, Awards and Decorations, Military Leave and Drug Demand Reduction, and being a Wing Inspection Team member where he evaluates readiness capabilities and fortifies the Commander’s Inspection Program. Hughey consistently demonstrates a commitment to personal and professional growth through his involvement across the wing. He leads as the President of the Hispanic Heritage Council, Vice President of the Squadron’s Top IV organization, and is a key facilitator for Sexual Assault and Response training. Mr Ben Hudson is recognized for his dedication, expertise, and service to Offutt AFB, Nebraska. Currently serving as a Construction Inspector with the 55 CES, Hudson has been at the center of both the MILCON program and Operations and Maintenance funded project repairs. His tenacity under the AF Contract Augmentation Program ensured that $100M worth of funded projects successfully renovated and recovered 32 flood damaged buildings. As the utility manager for a 104-acre flood recovery construction zone, Hudson resolved dozens of major utility layout conflicts to avoid construction impacts. In addition, he has authored 13 construction update briefings and identified and gained 240 construction deliverable documents. Hudson continues to expand his professional and personal goals by pursuing a 4-year college degree and serving as a TSgt in the Nebraska Air National Guard. 2d Lt Paige Arnold has exemplified exceptional skills, adaptability, and proactive approaches to problem solving as a Project Programmer. As one of the newest members of the 11 CES/CENPD, Arnold made a name for herself when she consolidated project priorities for one of the base's largest tenants, Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1). By effectively coordinating with 11 CES and HMX-1, she facilitated improved communication channels, resulting in streamlined operations and enhanced efficiency and guaranteed mission support. She also plays a pivotal role in the preparation of the Base Facilities Board, actively engaging with Wing Leadership and all mission partners. SrA Austin J Duck is an EOD team member from MacDill AFB, Florida, currently deployed with the 379 ECES at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Duck’s leadership has been evident as he has led a robust training program, organized three AOR TDYs to support EOD disposal operations and the CENTCOM Forensic Exploitation Lab, and secured new safety standards to expand the demolition range, saving the Air Force $3M annually in outsourcing costs. Seamlessly integrating his technical prowess with his warrior ethos, Duck fearlessly tackled supporting the Air Force's nuclear arsenal and overseas operations. He continues to enhance combat readiness through innovative scenarios and training aids while ensuring safety standards that protect lives and resources. Ms Jessica Jones is an exceptional Housing Management Specialist who works directly with privatized owners, residents, and base civil engineers. She has exceeded expectations by identifying 620 work orders related to sewage back-ups in base housing, supporting the execution of a quality control data analysis for 2,000 work orders, and increasing maintenance response and completion times to 97%. She was also a key factor in the completion of a Congress mandated housing inspection that resulted in a 95% completion rate and validating 991 homes as structurally sound. In addition to her role, Jones’ unwavering dedication to service motivated her to direct and organize over 40 hours in the Love Lives Bereavement Program through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for grieving families. Capt Samuel Parker is a model Project Engineer that has honed his technical expertise and leadership across two assignments, three deployments, and an advanced degree program, all in less than seven years. Based out of Nellis AFB, Nevada, Parker was competitively selected for the AFIT Civilian Institution Programs, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Transportation. By advancing his knowledge, he was able to drive a $10M 5-year RED HORSE Troop Training Project program and led 78 personnel in a successful unit validation exercise. He also prepped and executed the first RED HORSE deployment to the Pacific since Vietnam by leading site surveys, design efforts, and assisting the host unit with unprecedented typhoon recovery. His actions and planning prowess advanced PACAF’s Set the Theater initiative, enabling groundbreaking construction for the use of a $52M airfield and Guam’s first ACE operating platform.
