On 28 Mar, 460 CES firefighters held a drill to expose new lieutenants to the rigorous training that comes with being a firefighter. The intent of the drill was to provide real fire ground training under simulated stressful conditions to better understand life-saving tasks and how stressful firefighter work can be.

The Dangers of the Job

The 49 CES EOD flight at Holloman AFB, New Mexico, conducts various chemical munition decontamination exercises to test their ability to prepare for and operate mission-critical tasks while dressed in Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear. EOD is one of the most dangerous jobs the DoD has to offer, and training ensures that Airmen can keep civilians and service members safe.

Preparing for Readiness Challenge

Readiness Challenge builds a warfighting culture, assesses unit readiness, and builds contingency skills among civil engineers. In preparation for Readiness Challenge IX, the Air Force District of Washington team, consisting of Airmen from the 11 and 316 CES, conducted a training event at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.

The 374 CES and Schneider Electric hosted a Combined Heating and Power (CHP) plant tour to educate and inform middle and high school students and their parents at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Throughout the tour, students learned how the CHP plant generates electricity and steam in a reliable, efficient, and clean manner.

The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Geospatial Integration Office (AFCEC GIO) invites you to attend this annual educational and networking event hosted by GeoBase, bringing Airmen, Guardians, civil engineering staff, and geospatial professionals together for a week of learning and sharing geospatial solutions. Compass 2023 offers the geospatial community and stakeholders within the DAF an opportunity to participate in and learn about the most recent Geospatial Information and Service (GI&S) initiatives. This event provides training for geospatial applications, resource sharing, best practices for our rapidly advancing geospatial capabilities, and mission-relevant skill development.
