Airmen Engineers,

Since the dawn of airpower, aviation engineers have bedded down and supported missions with the upmost professionalism and resilience. For 75 years, we have ensured the Air Force is ready to fly, fight, and win - projecting airpower anytime, anywhere.

We trace our roots to World War II, where Engineers delivered versatile combat support during an especially pivotal time in our nation’s history. Over 120,000 Airmen built 1,000 airfields worldwide; they solidified the infrastructure necessary to lead the way in the most unpredictable climates.  It was upon the foundations they built that Congress established the United States Air Force on 18 September 1947, which fortified the invaluable role of airpower in defense of our nation.

Through the decades, the Air Force has prevailed with Airmen Engineers at the forefront of every challenge. Always there to defend our nation’s ideals in the face of conflict, Airmen Engineer dedication and diligence remains steadfast as we confront our pacing challenge.

We honor our 75-year heritage and those who led before us by pushing forward. We stand tall as we enter a new chapter of reinvigorating our warrior mindset. We are more than the tools we use. We are innovators; we are ready to accelerate change, make strategic decisions at a moment’s notice, and adapt in any contingency. The CE Warfighting Ethos embodies lean, effective, adaptive, and dynamic principles that will build the readiness necessary to combat our pacing challenge.

Even as we celebrate 75 years - an impressive feat, our work continues. As we look toward a new horizon, we must be ready for the unprecedented challenges and opportunities this landscape presents. LEAD THE WAY!
