ANNOUNCEMENT
Now Available! Child Welfare Outcomes Data Site—Updated With 2018–2022 Data
|
|
The Children's Bureau is pleased to announce that the Child Welfare Outcomes data for 2018 through 2022 are currently available on the Child Welfare Outcomes data site.
The Children's Bureau updated the data site to include data from the forthcoming Child Welfare Outcomes 2018–2022: Report to Congress. The site includes state and national performance data on outcome measures and related context data for children supported by the child welfare system. The outcome measures used in the report focus on seven categories, including children's safety, well-being, and permanency. The main data sources are the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System and the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System.
The Child Welfare Outcomes data site, recently updated with a new look and feel, makes it possible to evaluate information in different ways by using the following functionalities to support your analysis:
- Select data tables that group related outcomes and choose the specific state(s), Administration for Children and Families region(s), and years
- Choose to view data in a table or graph
- Compare data across states and years
- Use keywords or topics of interest to dynamically search for data across the site
- View and print individual data pages for each state
In addition, the data site includes the following special features:
- Sort data tables by different attributes, drag and drop columns to rearrange the order, and then export the data as a CSV file
- Explore enhanced race and ethnicity breakdowns for multiple data points
Data systems, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement are essential components to help child welfare systems sustain effective practices or modify or cease practices that are not achieving their expected outcomes. Find more resources to support these efforts on the Child Welfare Information Gateway website, where you can explore a special collection of resources on this topic or create your own custom search results.
