Parenting is tough! There is no guide or one-size-fits-all approach, and every family encounters unique challenges throughout their children’s lives. But one thing that parents and caregivers all share is the desire to do what is best for their children and their futures.
During July, we recognize Purposeful Parenting Month. Children who are out of school may be able to spend more time at home with family. This additional time is ideal for parents and caregivers to practice and cultivate intentional parenting skills that focus on understanding child development.
As child welfare professionals, this is an opportunity for us to recognize our vital role in helping to strengthen and support all families. We must ensure that parents and caregivers have the resources to create a positive home environment that allows children to thrive.
Engaged, positive parenting helps children become successful, independent adults. This resource collection was created to help you work with parents and caregivers—no matter their family structure. Incorporate these resources into your practice so you can continue to help strengthen families and give them the tools they need before they are in crisis.
