Celebrate the 5-Year Anniversary of the Family First Prevention Services Act
This February marks the 5-year anniversary of the signing of the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA). Since its enactment, FFPSA has helped to significantly change how agencies across the country provide services to families, children, and youth involved in the child welfare system.
FFPSA has helped shift the system to focus on keeping children with their families; prevent the need for out-of-home care; and provide families with greater access to mental health services, substance use treatment, and resources to support improved parenting skills.
In celebration of the role that FFPSA has played in primary prevention and its impact on the foster care system, we’ve put together a special resource collection and podcast playlist. Use these resources to prepare for round 4 of the Child and Family Services Reviews and listen to the playlist all month long.
