Governor Spencer Cox specifically addressing municipal leaders, recommendations for mayors and council members from President Donald Trump, and and invitation to join a conference call conversation with Senator Mitt Romney tomorrow.

1) Executive Order: Governor Herbert is issuing an executive order for all bars and restaurants across the state of Utah to close to dine-in service for two weeks.  See this news report for details.

2) Conference Call for city leaders with Gov. Herbert and Lt. Gov. Cox:  The governor's office will attempt to update local leaders two times a week during the coronavirus outbreak with information important to leaders of cities and towns.  The information discussed in this call is intended as guidance for you and provides forum to address your concerns.  It is not designed to share with the public at large.  Click here for view the conversation from today and watch for further invitations via email.

3) Recommendations for community leaders from President Trump:

4) Tomorrow, ULCT will host a conference call for Utah community leaders with Senator Mitt Romney from 3:00-3:30 pm to discuss federal aid, the rollout of aid, and how local governments and businesses can access it.  The call is limited to 500 participants, so if your city or town wishes to participate, please designate one person to join the call.  We will make the recording of the call available afterwards.

Please note - if you attempt to call-in and the phone line is busy, you can try again with a different number or wait a few minutes until the line is available. Since we anticipate a large number of participants on the call, questions must be submitted in advance by 2:00 p.m. tomorrow through this form link.  Questions specific to the federal government response will be submitted to Senator Romney’s office.  All other questions will be handled by ULCT staff.
