Check your Christmas and New Year waste collection dates
Your waste and recycling collection days are changing this Christmas and New Year.
Look up your collection dates or download your calendar online.
If your recycling is collected by St Nicks, check their collection times over Christmas here
If you or someone you know needs additional support offline or in an alternative format, paper copies are available from West Offices on Station Rise, or you can collect a copy from your local library or Explore.
For alternative formats, including braille and large print, contact cycaccessteam@york.gov.uk or call 01904 551551.

Foster carers needed
The festive period can be a time of reflection for many people, so if you’re taking time out to think about your next move, why not consider fostering?
We always need more foster carers in York to provide safe, loving homes to children and young people who can’t live with their birth families. So, get in touch to see if fostering could be the right fit.

Fun for Christmas
We're inviting families to get into the festive spirit by coming to one of our free Raise York Christmas parties at York family hubs.
They're aimed at under 5s and their parents and carers, but everyone is welcome. There will be free mince pies, hot drinks, festive crafts, and a present from Santa! No need to book, just turn up.

Financial support at Christmas
Many of us are facing money challenges at the moment, and winter can feel a trickier time with increased energy costs and festive pressures.
There’s lots of help and support available locally, whatever your concerns

Neighbourhood caretakers continue work across city
Our neighbourhood caretaker team have been working in the Guildhall area to cut back overhanging vegetation and remove moss and leaves and clean up the areas around Walmgate and Navigation Road.
Priorities for the team are being identified through ward walkabouts, ensuring that local knowledge and community voices shape the work being done.

Have your say!
Want to share your opinions? Here's what we're asking about at the moment, and what the deadlines are for taking part.
One of the best ways to influence what happens in York is to get involved in our Talkabout citizen's panel, which happens twice a year.
