Welcome to your latest Raise York families update
This week we're raising awareness of support available as part of Talk York Money fortnight, we're sharing updates on changes to kerbside collections and much more.

Make the most of your budget with York Talk Money
It’s York Talk Money fortnight and we’re working with partners across the city to help residents get the financial support they’re entitled to.
For families, this might include the NHS Healthy Start card - worth up to £440 per year - to help with costs for food, including fruit and vegetables.

Kerbside collections get an upgrade
For the first time residents across York can now recycle food and drink carton and toothpaste tubes in their regular kerbside recycling collections.
The change marks a significant step forward in simplifying household recycling collections and is part of the Government's 'Simpler Recycling' reforms.

Getting around for £1
It’s just £1 when getting around York by bus for young people this Autumn!
Single fares for passengers aged 18 or under are still just £1, across the whole of York and North Yorkshire.
It's quick, it's easy - just ask the driver for the ‘young persons’ ticket’.

Are you private fostering? Let us know!
If you’re looking after someone else’s child for longer than 28 days, but you’re not a close relative, it’s called private fostering and you need to let us know. We can help to support you and keep them safe.

BEAT Eating disorders
We are working with eating disorder experts Beat to provide free support for York residents.
You can self-refer into online programmes to help you develop skills to help support a loved one with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, OSFED or ARFID.

The sessions run at SEND Central, the Clifton Family Hub, so why not join in?

Have your say!
Want to share your opinions? Here's what we're asking about at the moment, and what the deadlines are for taking part.
One of the best ways to influence what happens in York is to get involved in our Talkabout citizen's panel, which happens twice a year.
