Get around by bus for the holidays
Half-term is just around the corner, so if you're thinking of getting out and about in York with the family, why not get the bus?
Park & Ride buses are affordable, and on top of that, they now run until 10.30pm to all six sites! Our bus routes bring you right to York’s city centre - and an All York Family Day Ticket costing just £9.60 for up to two adults and three children can be used with all operators.
And remember, the Christmas Market returns next month, opening on 13 November. York Park & Ride is still the easiest way to get there, without the stress of city centre parking.

 Children celebrate healthy schools achievements
Congratulations to more than 60 pupils from schools from across York, who came together at New Earswick Folk Hall this week to celebrate their achievements in promoting health and well-being through the Healthy Schools Award Programme, in an event funded by City of York Council.
Schools can work towards bronze, silver, or gold status in four key themes: Active Lives, Food in Schools, Emotional Health and Well-being, and Personal, Social and Health Education. Pupils and staff from Yearsley Grove Primary are pictured receiving a Bronze Award for their work on the Active Lives theme.

Could you foster?
Fostering provides a safe home and more stable family life for our children and young people, when they need it the most.
There are many different types of fostering depending on the needs of the child or young person.
Anyone over the age of 21 years can be a foster carer.
