Welcome to our latest families newsletter. You may have noticed a new look with this edition to celebrate the Raise York Family Hub network. This week's stories include information on the launch of our new SEND Hub, how to take part in the York Walking Festival, news on our Stay and Play sessions and much more.

 Launch of York’s SEND CENTRAL hub
SEND CENTRAL – York’s new hub for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and their families – will be officially opened on Saturday 20 September between 10am and 12pm at Clifton Family Hub, Clifton Green Primary School, Water Lane, Clifton.
Everyone is welcome to look around and provide their feedback on what local families want from the hub.

Join us for the York Walking Festival!
This weekend marks the start of the York Walking Festival (13-28 September), a fantastic opportunity to explore our beautiful city while enjoying the great outdoors!
There’s plenty of inspiration online to help you simply get started walking or exploring further afield at times that suit you best.

Stay and Play Sessions
With over 10,000 visits in the past year, it’s clear that you and your families are loving York’s Stay and Play sessions.
The sessions have childcare professionals on hand to support, the fun, friendly sessions offer a range of high-quality toys designed to help develop children’s brains through play, inspired by the principles of the NSPCC’s Look, Say, Sing, Play campaign.

 Catch the Bus Month
It’s Catch the Bus Month and to celebrate we are giving away bus tickets and quadruple rewards on BetterPoints, for you to spend in high street stores.
Did you know we have a new route map showing York’s six operators delivering more than 40 routes serving over 1000 bus stops, linking our city centre to villages, Park and Ride sites and further afield?

New Mum's Group to launch in Hob Moor
Thula Mama starts on Friday 19 September at Hob Moor Family Hub (10am-11.30am).
It's a free, drop in singing group, for new and expectant mums with babies up to 1 year old.

York Food and Drink Festival is back
The Food and Drink Festival is back this autumn (19-28 September) with a diverse range of options to enjoy.
The 10 day festival will feature around 70 streetfood and produce stands, entertainment events for all the family and more. So why not get involved?

 Last chance to have your say on our childcare survey!
We want to know more about your views on early years and childcare places in York to help us plan for high quality early years and childcare places across the city.
We want to hear from you if:
- You have yet to find an early years and childcare places for your 0 to 14 year old (up to 18 years old for children with a disability), or
- You have a child/ children currently attending a childminder, pre-school, day nursery, school nursery, before/after school care or holiday club.
Answers will be kept confidential and parents / carers will not be identified in any way in the reporting and use of this survey.
