Welcome to your latest Families update
This week's edition includes support for your children's emotional and mental wellbeing, the chance to name York's new SEND hub, tips on staying safe in the heat and much more.
 Mental Health and Wellbeing
We all know that our emotional health and mental wellbeing is just as important as our physical health, but did you know that 50% of mental health problems start before the age of 14?
If your child is feeling a bit different to normal or if you’ve noticed a change in their behaviour it might be worth heading to the Raise York website to find information on how to support their emotional and mental health.

Name the new SEND hub!
We’re creating a new flagship hub for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in York and their families and we need your help to come up with a new name for it.
Please email your suggestion to claire.kenny@york.gov.uk by Monday 7 July.
