 Take part in Carer's Week (9-15 June)
York Carers Centre is celebrating national Carers Week with a range of fun and supportive activities and is inviting Young Carers to join them!
York Carers Centre is an independent charity offering free support to unpaid carers in York. They support young carers (from age 5), young adult carers (aged 18–25), and adult carers (aged 25+), with the different challenges each group faces.

isParent Carer Forum York
The Parent Carer Forum York are seeking new members to join their community of parents and carers of children aged 0 - 25 with additional needs.
The Forum is an independent charity made up of parents and carers of children or young people with additional needs or disabilities (0-25) who live in York.

 Join the Homestead Park Festival
On Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July, Homestead Park will come alive with a free festival – bringing together artists, musicians, and changemakers and people of all ages and backgrounds.
Come with friends, bring a big family group, tell your neighbours and get involved!

Moving up
For up-to-date information on school transition for children with SEND sign up to our free event on Tuesday 1 July 9:30am – 12:30pm at York St John University.
It’s designed to build understanding and provide helpful resources to improve the move from primary to secondary school. Limited spaces available.

Leaving children at home
Children mature at different rates, and the age they are safe to be left alone at home will vary between different children.
The NSPCC has released helpful guidance to help families to assess the right time for their child. Remember, it is against the law to leave a child along if it puts them at risk.
