Reduced bus fares for young people this Easter
Bus fare support for under 19 year olds will continue until March 2026, thanks to continuing funding via the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Single fares for passengers aged 18 or under are still just £1, across the whole of York and North Yorkshire, just ask the driver for the ‘young persons' ticket’.

York Walls in Bloom grows across the city
Volunteers and businesses are joining us to help create York Walls in Bloom for next Spring.
The campaign is being extended to include Red Tower and Queen Street, where these unique and historic spaces will bloom into life.

Parenting is one of the most rewarding – and challenging – roles that most of us will ever have.
That’s why Raise York has a wide range of online and in-person courses to help parents, whatever stage or phase your child or children are in.
A full list of the courses is available on the Raise York website - and you can search by topic or by your child’s age to find what’s best for you and your family.

National Breastfeeding Helpline now available 24/7
The Helpline offers friendly, non-judgemental, independent, evidence based breastfeeding support and advice to anyone in the UK who needs it.
The service is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 0300 100 0212.

Accessing services and activities in York
Families can use the Raise York Directory to search for a range of activities, clubs, groups and services to help with family life.
New entries include Claire’s Kitchen, Inclusive Swim, Youth Bus and more.
