Glass recycling
Domestic waste glass (known as cullet) is easy to recycle. The UK currently recycles around 71% of container glass, like bottles and jars. The glass sector is working towards a 90% collection rate for glass by 2030.
Each time one tonne of glass is recycled, about 580kg CO2 is saved throughout the supply chain, air pollution is reduced by 20% and water pollution cut by 50%!
So recycling glass makes a huge difference. It can be collected in your green recycling bin. However, there is still more we can all do, such as remembering to recycle our clear glass jars which are often forgotten. There are also different types of glass which can’t be recycled.
Find out more by reading our August waste and recycling newsletter.

Bewdley Museum - What's on
It has been a busy summer at the museum with the children's activities as popular as ever. Bad weather meant the Boogaloo Babes concert was postponed but we have rescheduled it for 5pm on Saturday 11 September. There are still some tickets available.
Heritage week is coming up and you can join in with the museum's guided town walks. A local guide will help you explore Bewdley's years as one of England's most important ports.
You can also explore the Bronze Age when a new display opens on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September.
The display will include an insight into the first farmers and earliest metalworkers. There will be a collection of objects such as beaker pottery, mining minerals and a section of a roundhouse. Bewdley’s own Bronze Age Rapier, which is an artefact of significant interest, will also be there. The museum's technician and qualified Archaeologist will be giving extra information about the display and showing a collection of artefacts.
If that isn’t enough, there will be rope making demonstrations on both days at 2pm and the air raid shelter experience from 10am to 12pm on Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
