Let's keep life moving

Coronavirus is still with us so it's important we keep playing our part. While the vaccine is doing a good job at weakening the virus, it is still possible to get COVID-19 and possible to spread it to others.

The COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to protect yourself, friends and family from the virus.

Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying for a baby can have the vaccine. There is also no scientific evidence that the vaccine affects fertility.

We are seeing signs of the vaccine working with cases falling. As of today (Monday 2 August 2021), there are 283 cases of coronavirus in the district. Across Worcestershire the average is 273.

Have your say

Have your say on your feelings about COVID-19 by completing The Community Housing Group’s survey. This is your opportunity to give your thoughts on testing, vaccination and self-isolation.

We are working in partnership with TCHG, Worcestershire County Council and NHS Herefordshire & Worcestershire CCG to make sure local perspectives and concerns are at the heart of our work going forward.

The data will be stored by TCHG and only used for the purpose of supporting the local partnership approach to Covid-19.

Streetdrinking

Alcohol and Kidderminster town centre - Have your say

We've launched a consultation to get your views on extending our Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) about alcohol in Kidderminster town centre.

The PSPO is not an outright ban on street drinking, and does not make it illegal to carry alcohol or to drink alcohol in a public place.

It is not an offence to consume alcohol in a public place; the offence is failing to comply with an officer’s request to cease drinking and this can lead to confiscation of alcohol and a penalty fine.

So long as drinking is done responsibly a PSPO will only be used to tackle alcohol related anti-social behaviour or disorder.

You have until 5pm on Wednesday 4 August to complete the survey.

Helping you live more independently

Sometimes our circumstance change and the homes we love may become difficult to live in. We provide grants to help people have better freedom of movement into and around their homes and to access to essential facilities. The Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) help to pay for essential home adaptations. It could include things like grab rails, stair lifts, level access showers, ramps and improved heating and lighting. To apply for a grant, you’ll need an assessment, this may be carried out by an occupational therapist or in some circumstances our qualified trusted assessor can visit you. For more information about the grants and to start the process to see if you qualify contact our housing team.
