Local Restrictions Grant open for applications
The Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) is now open for applications. This is a government grant administered by local authorities. It is available to businesses that, whilst not required to close whilst when in Tier 2, were impacted by the restrictions in place between 2 and 29 December 2020. Priority will be given to those businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. More information and online application forms are available on your local authority websites:

Celebrating North Worcestershire Calendar
AP Insurance brokers based in Redditch is the January feature in our new ‘Celebrating North Worcestershire’ calendar. Produced by NWedR in partnership with NWBL, the calendar includes photographic features of 12 local winning businesses that entered our annual PR competition by telling us what makes the area great for their business. Government has set out its UK COVID-19 vaccines delivery plan for vaccinating tens of millions of people by the spring. This is the largest vaccination in British history.

£150 towards Enterprise membership
Enterprising Worcestershire is offering new or young businesses a fund towards their choice of business membership. For a limited time, Enterprising Worcestershire can now fund £150 towards your choice of business membership. This will provide you with ongoing support and access to a wide range of business services, critical for your new or early stage business. Memberships can cover access to a range of services, covering everything from legal and tax support, employment legislation, webinars and masterclasses and networking opportunities.

Worcestershire County Council (WCC) Low Carbon Opportunities Programme is here to help local businesses within Worcestershire and Shropshire benefit from, and thrive in this vibrant market. The programme offers detailed and in-depth one-to-one business support from sector experts aimed at getting businesses investment ready, as well as providing capital grant contributions.
On the 3rd of February 2021, WCC will be holding a free-to-attend webinar which aims to help Worcestershire and Shropshire SMEs launch or diversify into this market. We will hear from highly experienced business advisors who are experts in this field and we will examine how The Low Carbon Opportunities programme can help turn your idea or concept into a successful, profitable business.

Birmingham City University is offering a free series of 4 half-day workshops covering the essentials of leadership and marketing strategy for start-ups and new businesses.
The Enterprise for Success workshops starting in February are designed to support small or medium-sized business owners and to help you understand how to grow and develop in order to achieve your business goals, giving you a competitive advantage.

Walk the walk
You can boost your mental – and physical - health by signing up for the Worcestershire Ambassadors ‘Walk the Walk’ 2021 campaign. We are encouraging as many people as possible across Worcestershire to join us in logging their miles as they run, jog, walk or play sport so we can cumulatively reach the moon – 238,900 miles away. The aim is to collectively raise £20,000 to support mental health initiatives in Worcestershire. Many people have already joined in the challenge but if you haven’t signed up yet there’s still time to get involved.

Here2Help
Worcestershire County Council has created a website called Here2Help. This website provides users with information on what they can to do to stay safe and help others in their community. There are areas for how to manage your mental health during the pandemic and a place to showcase how others are helping their communities during this tough time.
